  Tara pulls over onto the shoulder of the road and decides to run the rest of the way to where Tristan is. She gets out of the car and takes off her clothes and places them in her seat. She drops down on all fours and starts the change coming over her. Her bones start realigning and reshaping. The fur flies over her bones and she starts running down the trail. She is a big black wolf with red eyes. She looks almost as big as Tristan’s wolf but smaller. She continues on the trail until she comes to a house. She catches Tristan’s scent and slows down. She walks over toward an open window and sees Tristan with Ava. They are making love. She is so furious that she runs back to her car as fast as she can. She runs up next to her car and begins the change back to human. Her bones begin popping and cracking back into place and the fur recedes off of her bones. She stands up and grabs her clothes and starts to put them back on. She is furious about the betrayal and what she has seen. She heads her car in the direction of the Appalachian Pack.

  Chapter 9

  Michael heads back into his cabin and waits for any word about Ava. I cannot believe I was stupid enough to be fooled by a human. This will not go unanswered. She will be mine before the day is out. He turns as he hears a car pulling up the driveway. He walks out of the door and sees Tara sauntering her way over to him. “Hello my lover. I have missed you. I need a real wolf in my life and not a weakling,” replied Tara. “He has betrayed you hasn’t he Tara. I told you that he could not be trusted”, replied Michael. “I knew he could not be trusted all along. I just need to see what he had planned. Which reminds me; are you missing something Michael,” replied Tara? “I have no idea what you are talking about Tara”, he relied. “There is a certain human bitch that is several miles from here with Tristan. Now how could that of happened if she is supposed to be here with you”, she replied. The growling from Michael is so loud it makes the hairs on your body stand at attention. Where is she Tara? “She is in a house about an hour from here. She is with Tristan and his sister”, she replied. We will make preparation for their attack and take what he wants the most,” replied Michael. I love it when you are this assertive Michael. Tara walks over to Michael and runs her hands up and down Michael’s chest. I am not in a mood to be toyed with Tara. I have every intention of playing with you Michael. He grabs her wrists and pulls them behind her back and leads her to the couch. He bends her forward on the back of the couch. He rips her pants down and releases himself. He slams his cock deep into her core and pounds like he cannot get enough of her. She growls out her approval. He places one hand on her back holding her down and the other hand in her hair pulling her head back. He uses her hair as leverage to pound deeper into her. He begins pounding at a rhythm that is unsteadying and screams his release into the air. He pulls out of her and walks away. “Get yourself together Tara and get out. I need to think before we launch our attack tonight”, replied Michael. “I didn’t get to have my release you stingy bastard”, she relied. That is not my problem now is it Tara. He walks away down the hall to the bathroom to wash away the sex from Tara. Ava and Tara are going to pay for their betrayal. I will have something planned for each of them. I am not the wolf to be messed with.

  Back at Elaina’s house Tristan and Ava awake form their nap. “I am so glad you are here Tristan. I didn’t know how I was going to go on without you. I know we haven’t know each other but I feel like I have known you all of my life. You are part of the puzzle that makes me whole Tristan. I feel like we are soul mates.” replied Ava. “I agree Ava. You have always been close in my life but I was unaware of it. You even went to school with my sister. These things are not a coincidence. Things like this just don’t happen. It is fate telling us that we should be together. When everything is finally over, I want you to become my mate in all the ways a mate should be. I want it to be your choice and not one made for you. I want to have the mating ceremony in front of our friend and family in the pack,” replied Tristan. “I would love nothing more than to be your mate Tristan”, replied Ava . They embrace each other in a hug and give each other a chaste kiss. “I think we should tell Elaina the good news,” replied Ava. I agree with you Ava. They walk into the living room and find Elaina sitting on the couch drinking some coffee. “I am glad you too love birds have made up. I am so looking forward to being at your mating ceremony”, replied Elaina. “You are so confident about things happening that way are you? I love you sister and thank you for calling me about my mate,” replied Tristan. “So Elaina you are a werewolf to”, asked Ava? Yes Ava I am. “I have always wanted more that pack life. There is nothing wrong with pack life but I have always been a little rebellious and I like to follow my own path”, replied Elaina. “I can understand that Elaina. “I have always wanted a family and now I have it and much more. You should always go after what you want,” replied Ava. “I must call Zane and Christian to let them know what has transpired. I will have them meet me here and we can discuss our next step pertaining to the Appalachian pack. Michael and Tara are going to pay for what they have done with their lives. No one messes with my family and gets away with it,” replied Tristan. Tristan pulls out his cell phone and dials Zane’s phone number. In a close proximity he can connect with his pack telepathically. With this kind of distance between them it is impossible to do. Zane answers on the second ring. “Hello Alpha is everything alright,” replied Zane? “Yes Zane. I have Ava here with me and she is fine. I need you and Christian to meet me here so we can make our next plan of attack on Michael and Tara. I will not let them get away with what they have done to our pack. They are not going to expose us to the humans and risk everyone’s lives for power. We are to stay off the radar of humans. We work with them every day and they are none the wiser and it needs to stay that way. We are not a danger to the humans. We are only a danger to ourselves if we allow someone like Michael and Tara to spread their lies and deceit”, replied Tristan. “I am happy that you have found Ava. We will be there within the next hour”, replied Zane. Tristan hangs up the phone and embraces Ava. “Everything will be taken care of my mate”, replied Tristan. “I know that all will be taken care of with you being in charge. I love you Tristan and wouldn’t have it any other way”, replied Ava. He hugs her harder and gives her a kiss on the lips. “I love you to my mate. Now let’s relax before Zane and Christian arrives”, replied Tristan. They all remain in the living room talking and catching up on the last couple of hours.

  Elaina gets up to make them all some coffee and notices something moving outside of her window. She walks over to her door and opens it to look out. As she looks out the door, she is grabbed and all you hear are her screams. Tristan jumps up off the couch then runs to the door and is stopped in his tracks when a bullet hits him in the shoulder. He begins to move again and is shot in the chest. He falls to the floor and is hardly moving. Ava starts screaming and runs to Tristan to stop the bleeding. Michael walks in the door and has a grin on his face. I told you if you ran I would make you sorry you stupid human bitch. He reaches down and grabs her by the hair then drags her out of the house. She is kicking and screaming the whole way. Tara walks up and hits Ava in the stomach with her fist. Ava drops to the ground gagging from the blow to her abdomen. She tries to catch her breath when she spits out a mouth full of blood. She is pulled off the ground by her hair. Michael is dragging her to a car parked in the shadows. Tara walks into the house with Tristan and shuts the door. Ava and Elaina are in the same car with Michael and two of his scouts. They have both of the girls hands bound with rope. Elaina looks to be unconscious. “Tristan is going to kill you when he finds me”, replied Ava. “I don’t believe he is going to get the chance considering Tara is going to finish the job. But first she is going to fuck his brains out,” replied Michael. “That would be the only way she could get him if he’s unconscious”, she relied. “That may be so but I wouldn’t worry about him if I were you. I have something in store for you my pet. You are going to become my mate”, he replied. “I will never be your mate”, replied Ava. “I don’t think I ask
ed; unfortunately you have no choice in the matter Ava,”replied Michael.

  Zane and Christian arrive at Elaina’s house and notice that the yard seems to be torn up and there is some blood on the ground. They sneak up to the house and look in the window to see if they can see anything. Tristan is lying on his side with Tara hovering over him with a gun. Zane crouches low and lets the change come over him. His legs and arms are popping and his jaw elongates into a snout as the fur covers his body. He is a very large brown wolf with black glowing eyes. Christian reaches the door knob and turns it slightly to open it. Zane goes charging in the door and jumps on top of Tara. She tries to throw him off but he is to strong and weights more than she does. He grabs her by the neck and shakes his head vigorously until he hears her neck snap. He drops her on the ground where she falls dead. Zane runs over to where Tristan is and nudges him with his head. Tristan calls on the strength of all his wolves and brings the change upon himself. He screams from the contortion of his bones and the bullets pop out from the holes from the change. He brings the change back on to return back to human form. “Tara had been the one to shoot me with the silver bullets”, replied Tristan. “She is dead now sire and will not be a problem for us anymore”, replied Christian. “Where is my mate and sister,” asked Tristan? “It looks like Michael has taken them. We found blood on the ground outside before we came in here and found Tara with you,” replied Zane. “We must go and get them now”, replied Tristan. We are ready when you are alpha.

  Chapter 10

  Michael’s car pulls up to a clearing in the middle of the cabins and stops. There are two large boulders placed side by side with shackles hanging from them. Michael grabs Ava and drags her with him to the first boulder and shackles her wrist and ankles to boulder. One of the scouts is carrying Elaina and shackles her to the other boulder. There are torches lit up all around the area. All of the pack members are in a circle around the torches. Michael stands in the middle of the the pack waiting for silence.” Dear pack members, tonight we are going to be put to the test. The alpha of the Black Mountain pack will be coming to retrieve his mate and sister. He does not believe in change. He wants to repress the rest of us and have us be like subservient dogs to the humans. We will not be subservient any more. Once I kill the alpha we will take over his pack and rule the area. We will be unstoppable”, replied Michael. The crowd starts yelling and cheering for him. Michael drops to all fours and starts the change into a werewolf. His bones start dislocating and twisting with the change taking over. The fur covers him from head to tail. He is a black wolf with gray on his chest. The other wolves around the circle follow suite and change into wolves also. Michael walks over to Ava and bears his teeth at her. A voice comes from out of the woods. Get away from my mate Michael. Tristan, Zane, and Christian have arrived. If it is a fight that you want then it is a fight you are going to get,” replied Tristan. Michael grabs Ava by the shoulder with his teeth and bits down drawing blood. Ava screams out in pain and collapses on top of the boulder. “I will kill you Michael”, replied Tristan. “She has not accepted you as her mate Tristan. She has not taken the final step to become your mate. I have as much right to claim her as my mate as you do. Once you are dead she will be my mate”, replied Michael. I will see you dead before that happens, replied Tristan. Tristan falls down on all four and lets the change take over him. Michael attacks Tristan before the change has completely takes effect. They go rolling round on the ground biting each other. Christian and Zane tell the other wolves to stay back and let the two of them fight it out. Michael has broken Pack Law by biting Tristan’s mate. Tristan grabs Michael’s shoulder with his teeth and throws him into a tree. Off to the corner a big flash light appears and two objects appear. It is Jeffery and Lily. They walk up to the circle and raise their hands creating a light causing all the other wolves to cower down to the ground in submission. Tristan grabs Michael by the throat and begins to squeeze with his teeth. Lily flashes over beside them and stands before Tristan. “The decisions you make here today will affect the outcome of the future to come. You must right all the wrongs and take the high road to be an effective leader. Your father would be proud of you Tristan. You are a true leader,” replied Lily. Tristan drops Michael to the ground and stand over him. “Michael I am going to spare your life here today. I cannot let my personal feeling over rule the bigger issue at hand. I cannot allow you to destroy our race with your greedy needs. You are to leave the country and never return or you will be killed on site. Do you agree Michael”, replied Tristan? Michael cowers down to the ground and shakes his head in agreement and backs away. Tristan turns to walk away and Michael lunges for him. Tristan turns and grabs him by the neck and snaps it in half. Michael falls limp to the ground. Tristan begins the process to change back into a human. He stands up and walks over to Ava. She is lying limp on the boulder with blood dripping down on the rock. Ava can you hear me sweet heart, asked Tristan? She barely shakes her head. “I need you to take my blood love. You are going to die if you don’t take it. I need to complete the mating ritual so you can survive. Are you alright with this,” replied Tristan? Ava nods her head and gasps for air. Tristan bits down on his wrist and lets the blood pour into her mouth. He takes his other arm and holds her up to his mouth. He lets her drink for a few minutes then bites into her neck causing her to spasm in his arms. He lets her fall back into his arms as he carries her to one of the cabins to let her rest. Zane runs over to Elaina and frees her from her restraints and gathers her in his arm. She embraces him as she crushes her mouth to his. He carries her into the house and places her next to Tristan. Lily and Jeffery walk in the door and stand next to everyone. She will be alright Tristan. You did the right thing concerning Michael. You will prevail from this disaster and come out an even better leader. Teach those that are lost and teach them the ways of the pack. Lily and Jeffery disappear out of the room. Tristan leans down and places a kiss on Ava’s cheek. She turns and opens her eyes at Tristan. “I thought I lost you Ava. I do not want to live this life without you. I love you and want to raise a family with you. You and the pack are my life”, replied Tristan. “I could never leave you Tristan. You are the reason that I live. I finally have a family worth having and the love of my life. I want to run with you until we are old”, replied Ava. “Let’s go home my love”, replied Tristan. “Tristan I will stay behind to reeducate this pack and undue all the damage Michael has done,” replied Zane. “I will stay with his also Tristan. We can start a new pack with everyone here. I don’t want to uproot any of them since they are already going through enough without losing their homes,” replied Elaina. That will be a great idea. “Will the two of you be able to get along,” asked Tristan? “I think we will be just fine here,” replied Zane. Tristan places Ava into the car and starts the drive back to the pack.

  Tristan and Ava arrive back at the mansion and are met by everyone in the pack. Everyone embraces Ava and congratulates them on their union. “It is a beautiful night for a run,” replied Ava. “Do you think you are up for it Ava? This will be your first shift and it may take a lot out of you,” replied Tristan. “I can handle anything as long as you are with me. I have my whole family here tonight to show me support. We can work through anything as long as we all do it together as a pack”, replied Ava. They all begin the change into wolves and run together in the woods as a family.
